Campsite Opens Lunchtime
Our event base for the weekend is at Freshwater Beach Holiday Park. If you have booked camping, this is where you will pitch up. The campsite will be open from lunchtime, and you can check into static caravans from 3pm. With lots of facilities on-site including a shop, pool, bowling and bar, there’s lots to explore. Event admin and our shop will open from 4-7pm on the event field for any last-minute queries or number collection.
Ultra 52km 8.00am
Entry: Affiliated £48 Unaffiliated £50
Starting at Lulworth, this challenging route will take in breathtaking sights along the coastline travelling through Durdle Door, Osmington Mills, Weymouth Bay, The Fleet, Abbotsbury and Burton Bradstock. Weaving through landslides, over cliff tops and around bays and headlands, this route is sure to make you fall in love with the Jurassic Coast.
Entry: Affiliated £43 Unaffiliated £45
Starting at Osmington Mills, the ultra-distance runners will be chasing you down as they come from the cliffs behind you! Your route intertwines with the ultramarathon route to make it back to Freshwater Beach before them. Taking in some spectacular scenery and views from the amazing Jurassic Coast, including Bowleaze Cove, Langton Herring, West Bexington and Cogden Beach.
For the safety of our runners, we are being strict on the cut-off times. Please ensure when booking that you’re able to complete 20 miles in 5 hours, which will mean you’ll reach our Lovestation™ by 1.45pm. If you fail to achieve this, you’ll be removed from the race for safety reasons.
Half Marathon 8.00am
Entry: Affiliated £28.50 Unaffiliated £31.50
Going the opposite way on day two, you’ll take in scenery along West Bay, Seatown, St Gabreil’s Wood and Golden Cap, Dorset’s highest climb, before returning to Freshwater Beach to finish. You will be running mainly on the Dorset section of the South West Coast Path and some inland trails; the route is predominantly tracks, paths and fields. This is the toughest of the five races, with a whooping elevation of 3,000ft but some spectacular views when you get to the top of those climbs. Not for the fainthearted.
Entry: Affiliated £25 Unaffiliated £27
As with the half marathon on day two, you will be taking in the scenery along West Bay and Eype. The 10k (ish) route goes along to Thorncombe Beacon where you then start to return along the cliff path to Freshwater Beach to finish. A gruelling route with a few climbs to reach the top of the cliffs and some steep descents, but well worth the effort for the amazing views along the coast.
Kids’ race 2pm
Not to leave the kids out, on the beach at Freshwater there will be the chance for the kids to complete a race of their own and claim their own medal from the weekend. The route is approximately 3k around the Freshwater Beach Holiday Park trails, paths and beach.
Usual White Star Running entertainment over the weekend includes top-notch caterers, coffee venders and a bar to keep you fuelled and refreshed.
There will also be some family activities to learn more about this amazing heritage site, including compass and map-reading skills, Jurassic Football, Building Coves, Fossil Hunting, Palaeontology Beach School and lots more.

What is the Jurassic Coast?
The different rocks along the Jurassic Coast have been carved by the sea into bays, beaches, cliffs, stacks, arches and landslides. This marvellous variety in the landscape helps create the natural beauty of the area and makes the Jurassic Coast an inspirational place to explore.
Just a few of the sights you might see along the route.
